Prêt impayé de 10 millions de F CFA : Adama Fall de l'APR libre après son audition à la SR de Colobane
Adama Fall, a leader of the Alliance for the Republic (APR), was summoned to the Colobane Research Section on Tuesday, December 16, 2024, in connection with an unpaid debt case. He was released after his hearing, according to Seneweb sources.
The Republican leader had received a loan of 10 million CFA francs from Crédit Mutuel du Sénégal (CMS), guaranteed by the Priority Investment Guarantee Fund (Fongip). Sued for defaulting on the loan, he was taken to court by the lending institution.
Areas of uncertainty in the granting of the loan
Contacted by Seneweb, Adama Fall, now a columnist, raises several questions about the conditions under which he obtained this loan. "I never submitted a project to Fongip. They called me and I gave them my ID numbers. I don't know what happened at Crédit Mutuel du Sénégal. Someone even asked me for money to receive my loan," he reveals.
Acknowledgment of debt and commitment to repayment
The politician nevertheless acknowledges having incurred this debt and accumulated payment delays. "I was summoned for questioning regarding a debt I incurred with Crédit Mutuel du Sénégal. I was late with the payment. It was CMS that filed a complaint against me for non-payment. This is standard procedure," he explains.
Adama Adus Fall continued: “I was summoned and questioned. Before arriving at the scene, I could have made payments at the bank, which I didn't do. Now, I've made commitments to continue paying, because a debt is a debt. It has to be paid. I made a commitment to repay and I was released. That's how it works. The debt amounts to 10 million CFA francs.”
Questions about the role of the guarantor and insurance
The APR official also questioned the guarantee mechanism in place in case of default. “When there is a default, it is Fongip that must pay; that's why it is the guarantor. That's the first point. Second, we paid the insurance. When there is a default, it is the insurer who should intervene. However, that's not how it happened. We made a commitment to pay the debt. This debt dates back a very long time,” Adama Fall concluded in a phone interview with Seneweb.
