The Rufisque central police station's urban security unit has taken 19-year-old AR Bissao, a resident of the Tacko neighborhood, into custody for assault and battery resulting in a 21-day temporary incapacity for work (ITT). The incident occurred on November 5, 2025, following an argument between two friends over accusations of abortion, according to Seneweb sources.

On November 5, 2025, Ms. AM, residing in the Dabakh neighborhood of Rufisque, filed a complaint against AR Bissao. In her statement, she claims that her 18-year-old daughter, A. Ngom, was scalded by her friend AR Bissao during an argument that broke out between them.

According to the victim, A. Ngom, AR Bissao contacted her by phone on November 5th, around 3 p.m., asking her to come to her home as soon as possible. She also found Mada there, a mutual friend of the two young women.

The origin of the conflict

According to AR Bissao, the accused, AR Ngom, accused her of having intentionally terminated her pregnancy from her previous marriage. These accusations were allegedly relayed to her by Mada.

Faced with these accusations, A. Ngom remained completely silent. Despite this, a violent argument broke out between the two girls. It was in these circumstances that AR Bissao took water from the stove and scalded her friend A. Ngom.

Seriously injured, she was evacuated to the Youssou Mbargane Diop Hospital in Rufisque, where she remained in intensive care for seven days. Her attending physician issued a medical certificate attesting to a temporary incapacity for work of 21 days.

The suspect fled minutes after the incident. Since then, she has been hiding in several locations to evade the police.

A hunt lasting several weeks

Sometimes reported in Parcelles-Assainies, Rebeuss or Pout, the fugitive was finally geolocated at the Pikine National Arena where she was arrested last Sunday by members of the research brigade, while she was attending a wrestling match.

AR Bissao confesses

After a brief questioning at the police station, she confessed to the charges against her. According to her statement, during the argument, she took the hot water from the kettle intended for breakfast and scalded A. Ngom. She then sought refuge, first at her mother's house in Parcelles-Assainies, before going into hiding in Pout to evade the authorities.

Placed in police custody, AR Bissao will probably be brought before the prosecutor tomorrow, Wednesday, to answer charges of intentional assault and battery resulting in a 21-day incapacity for work.
