Rufisque : Arrêté par la DSC, un faux marabout filmait ses patientes nues et écrivait sur leurs parties intimes
An individual posing as a traditional healer was arrested in Rufisque by the Special Division for Combating Cybercrime (DSC) for recording intimate videos of several women during consultations without their knowledge.
According to the investigation, one of the victims, who was suffering, was referred to the accused, MD, by her own brother. After an initial consultation, they exchanged contact information and maintained contact.
Subsequently, they had a video call on WhatsApp, during which MD asked the patient to expose her private parts, under the pretext of a spiritual diagnosis. The complainant was completely unaware that this exchange was being recorded without her knowledge.
A few months later, the victim was shocked to discover on the healer's WhatsApp status a screenshot of the intimate video, accompanied by a mocking message.
Shocked and humiliated, she immediately demanded he remove the content. Far from complying, MD categorically refused and even threatened to publish the entire video. He then sent her the video repeatedly, including in "single view" mode, despite her vehement protests. The victim subsequently filed a complaint with the National Police's Special Cybercrime Division. The investigation led to the suspect's arrest.
Confessions and damning discoveries
Under questioning, MD admitted to the acts. He confessed to recording the video without a valid reason and to keeping other similar videos of patients.
Technical analysis of his mobile phone revealed particularly damning content: several videos of naked women taking mystical baths or receiving written prescriptions on their private parts, according to Seneweb sources close to the prosecutor's office.
When questioned by investigators, the accused attempted to justify his actions by claiming that he filmed his patients to "protect himself from potential problems".
However, he eventually admitted that he was also doing it "for his own personal enjoyment".
At the end of the investigation, MD was referred to the public prosecutor's office for the unlawful collection, storage and dissemination of personal data.
