The Rufisque central police station arrested O. Diop for criminal conspiracy, statutory rape, kidnapping and gang rape of a 14-year-old girl suffering from mental illness.

The accused identified himself as O. Diop, aged 25, presenting himself as a Seneau agent, residing at the racecourse in Rufisque. According to the complaint filed by Mr. Ba, during the month of January 2025, his daughter N. Ba, aged 14, had run away from home, according to Seneweb sources. Searched for two days, she was found limping on a street corner. Brought home, the teenager confessed to having been abducted by T. Ba and O. Diop, who locked her in a room at the racecourse for two days and abused her several times.

Medical expertise confirms violence

Following the requisition of the Rufisque central police station dated January 25, 2025, addressed to the director of the Youssou Mbargane hospital, the gynecologist attested to vaginal injuries due to defloration of the hymen, thus confirming the allegations of rape.

Actively sought following the complaint, the two accused had disappeared into thin air since last January, temporarily escaping police investigations.

In a particularly disturbing development, the young victim disappeared again. Upon her return, she reported having been abducted by the same people.

O. Diop arrested, his accomplice T. Ba still wanted

O. Diop was finally surprised and arrested by the Rufisque urban security police in his room located at the racecourse. During his summary interrogation, he unconvincingly denied having had sexual relations with the minor. He claims to have simply lent his room to T. Ba during his meeting with the girl.

Interviewed by investigators, the victim, who was not in full possession of her mental faculties, stated that she had been locked in O. Diop's room by the latter and his accomplice T. Ba, who "took turns on her" for two days.

O. Diop is facing charges of conspiracy, statutory rape, kidnapping, and gang rape, according to Seneweb sources. The prosecutor, who appeared before the Rufisque High Court last Wednesday, requested that a judicial investigation be opened.
