Rumeur de pénurie de carburant : PETROSEN brise le silence
In a statement published this Sunday, March 8, 2026, the national company PETROSEN sought to reassure the population in the face of alarming rumors circulating about an "alleged imminent shortage of gas, gasoline and diesel in Senegal".
The company's management has issued a "categorical denial" of this information, which it considers "unfounded" and "insidious." According to the statement, this fake news, disseminated via a forged document wrongly attributed to the company, is "likely to sow doubt and confusion" among the public.
PETROSEN states that, to date, "no disruption to the national supply of petroleum and gas products has been reported." The company specifies that the entire import, storage, and distribution system "is operating normally in coordination with the relevant authorities."
Urging the public to exercise extreme caution, the company advises users to rely exclusively on the company's and the Ministry of Energy, Petroleum and Mines' official communication channels. Finally, PETROSEN reserves the right to take legal action against those responsible for spreading this false information, which is a threat to public order.
