Sabodala plongée dans le noir après un feu de brousse : la Senelec rassure
Residents of Sabodala experienced a temporary power outage on Wednesday following a bushfire that broke out around 2 p.m. The information was released by the National Electricity Company of Senegal (Senelec) in an official statement.
According to Senelec, the bushfire damaged a cable as repair work was underway in the area. This unforeseen situation forced technical teams to temporarily interrupt the power supply in order to secure the installations and prevent any further risks.
In response to the power outage, the electricity company stated that its technical teams were immediately mobilized on site. Their mission: to restore power as quickly as possible and return the situation to normal for Sabodala residents.
Aware of the inconvenience caused to customers, Senelec wished to apologize to the affected populations, stressing that all necessary measures are being taken to limit the duration of the service interruption.
The relevant administrative authorities and services in the Kédougou region have been informed of the situation, including the regional governor, the defense and security forces, and the health facilities, in order to ensure effective coordination while awaiting the complete restoration of electricity.
