Sacré-Cœur : un commerçant arrêté par la DIC avec 10,5 kg de chanvre indien en pleine livraison
The Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) has made another drug seizure in the capital. Around 5 a.m., at the JVC roundabout in the Sacré-Cœur district, investigators arrested A. Diouf in the act of delivering narcotics.
The suspect, a shopkeeper, was born in 1986. He lives in the same neighborhood where he was arrested. Placed in police custody, he is being prosecuted for possession and trafficking of 10.5 kilograms of cannabis, according to Seneweb sources.
Following his arrest, investigators searched his home. The search led to the discovery and seizure of all the merchandise.
When questioned by investigators, A. Diouf attempted to exonerate himself by claiming that the marijuana belonged to his roommate, a certain Y. Thiam. Investigators deemed this version disingenuous, especially since Diouf stated he was unable to indicate Thiam's current whereabouts.
The public prosecutor at the High Court of Dakar has been informed of the facts. An investigation is underway.
