Saint-Louis : un homme de 50 ans circule depuis 25 ans avec la pièce d’identité d’une femme de près de 60 ans
The National Division for Combating Trafficking (DNLT) arrested a Guinean national in Rosso on December 15. The man, Mr. Diallo, was apprehended while attempting to reach Dakar, in possession of a fraudulently obtained Senegalese national identity card, reports Libération.
The same source emphasizes that the investigation uncovered a scheme dating back more than twenty years. The accused acquired a Senegalese birth certificate as early as 2000, paying 15,000 CFA francs to a fellow countryman named A. Diallo.
However, Mr. Diallo was actually born in 1975 in Pita, Guinea. Checks with the civil registry in Yeumbeul established that the document used belonged to a Senegalese woman born in 1967, the newspaper details.
Referred to the Saint-Louis prosecutor's office for forgery and use of forged documents as well as undue acquisition of administrative documents, Mr. Diallo is the subject of prosecution, while the search continues to find his alleged accomplice, adds Libération.
