Saly : Un réseau présumé de recel de véhicules démantelé, le principal suspect en fuite
AL Mbaye, manager of a car park in Saly, filed a complaint against an individual named Ch. Fall, accusing him of renting two vehicles and then disappearing without returning them. Worse still, Ch. Fall allegedly resold the two cars, revealing the existence of a suspected stolen goods network.
According to the complainant, Ch. Fall arrived at his parking lot on October 26, 2025, to rent two cars, a Kia Sportage and a Citroën Elysée, for a period of 30 days. The man allegedly paid a deposit of 950,000 FCFA, leaving a balance of 250,000 FCFA to be paid. On November 25, 2025, the scheduled return date, all attempts to contact Ch. Fall proved unsuccessful. Suspecting fraud, the manager filed a complaint with the Saly Urban Police Station.
With the support of the urban police force and the research brigade, investigators quickly located the two vehicles in remote areas of Saly. Two women inside claimed ownership: MN Fall (for the Citroën) and MN Dieye (for the Kia Sportage). The vehicles were impounded at the police station for the purposes of the investigation.
MN Fall stated that he bought the Citroën from his brother, Ch. Fall, for 1,500,000 FCFA, before reselling it to a Mr. Mb. A. Aidara for 2,700,000 FCFA. The latter confirmed the purchase.
MN Dieye stated that he acquired the Kia Sportage from the same Ch. Fall for 4,000,000 FCFA.
Investigators quickly determined that the legal acquisition procedures had not been followed: no bill of sale or notarized power of attorney had been presented. These irregularities, combined with the statements of those involved, reinforced suspicions of an organized network involved in receiving stolen goods. The investigation also revealed that MN Fall had allegedly used similar methods in previous purchases of vehicles intended for resale.
At the conclusion of the investigation, the persons arrested were brought before the prosecutor of the High Court of Mbour, who ordered their detention.
The main suspect, Ch. Fall, presented as the mastermind of this alleged network, remains at large and is now the subject of an active search by the investigative services.

Il faut faire un signalement à vos collègues de la Gambie. Il est certainement allé se cacher là-bas. Je ne sais sur quel marabout qui lui a promis qu'il peut prendre une voiture en location et la revendre sans être inquiété...
Bizarre non!
