Saraya /Kolia : un Malien interpellé avec 34 sachets de chanvre indien à la frontière
On 23 September, officers from the Moussala Border Sector, on duty at the Kolia forward checkpoint, arrested a Malian national in possession of 34 bags of Indian hemp.
The man, identified by the initials LS, is around forty years old. A vulcanizer by profession, he lives in Kolia, a town on the border with Mali.
According to initial investigation findings, the suspect was returning from Bakofé (Mali) when he was arrested. During his hearing, he admitted to having acquired the drugs from a supplier nicknamed "Didier", based in Bakofé, without providing further details about the latter.
LS also stated that he intended to resell the product with the aim, he said, of "resolving a social case."
Following the seizure and the opening of an investigation, the individual was brought before the Saraya District Court on September 24, 2025 to answer for the facts with which he is accused.
This new seizure once again illustrates the security challenges faced by defense and security forces in border areas, particularly in terms of drug trafficking.
