Scandale à la mairie de Bandafassi : Arrêté par la SR de Kédougou, un ASP vendait de faux actes de naissance
A scandal is shaking the town hall of Bandafassi where a community security officer (ASP) was arrested by the Kédougou research section for trafficking in administrative documents.
Stationed at the premises of this municipality, B. Keïta allegedly took advantage of his status as a security agent to sell birth certificates for 20,000 to 30,000 CFA francs each.
A well-established modus operandi
According to the investigation, the ASP was creating fake birth certificates by using previously assigned numbers or by reopening old registers, based on the approximate age of the "beneficiary". This technique allowed them to give the fraudulent documents an appearance of authenticity.
Having been informed of a counterfeit document trafficking operation at the Bandafassi town hall, the gendarmes of the research section had been conducting an intensive investigation for several months. Thanks to meticulous work, the investigators succeeded in infiltrating the mafia.
It was in these circumstances that ASP B. Keïta was caught red-handed, in possession of numerous civil status documents. This arrest brought an end to a trafficking operation that had been going on for some time.
Subsequently, a search of his home allowed the police to seize several administrative documents, according to Seneweb sources close to the prosecutor's office.
The security guard thus had access to citizens' personal data and was probably unaware of the extent of the damage his actions could cause.
At the end of the investigation, B. Keïta was brought before the High Court of Kédougou on Monday, December 1, 2025, for forgery of public documents.
