Sédhiou : Un élève de 15 ans meurt électrocuté en branchant son téléphone
A tragic accident struck the village of Bakidioto, in the commune of Baghère, this Sunday. D. Lepeur, a 15-year-old student, lost his life by electrocution while charging his cell phone, according to Seneweb sources.
The Tanaff local police brigade was alerted early Sunday afternoon to a suspicious death in the village of Bakidioto, in the commune of Baghère. The victim, a 15-year-old boy, was reportedly struck by an electric shock in dramatic circumstances.
According to initial investigation findings, the young boy was plugging in his cell phone charger when the tragedy occurred. It was his older brother, F. Lepeur, who found his younger brother's lifeless body lying on his back in the boys' bedroom. Members of the Tanaff community brigade, who arrived at the scene at 2 p.m., found an injury resembling a burn on the teenager's right bicep. This burn had also damaged the black T-shirt he was wearing. Less than a meter from the body, the sleuths found an electrical extension cord to which a white cross-shaped charger was plugged. Paradoxically, neither the charger nor the extension cord showed any visible cuts.
However, investigators noted that all three charger tips were metallic, which may have played a role in the electrocution.
The public prosecutor was informed and D. Lepeur's body was transported to the morgue of the Goudomp health center.
