Situation hydrologique du fleuve Sénégal : à Podor, la baisse s’accélère
On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 8:00 AM, the level of the Senegal River, measured at the Elhadj Boubou Sall Quay in Podor, stood at 5.44 meters. This represents a decrease of 6 centimeters compared to the previous day, when it reached 5.50 meters.
This gradual, albeit moderate, decrease confirms a trend that began several days ago. It is important to remember that the alert level of 5 meters for Podor has been exceeded since September 14, 2025, indicating a situation requiring close monitoring.
Despite the receding water level, local authorities and riverside communities are urged to remain constantly vigilant. River fluctuations can be rapid and unpredictable, especially during periods of low water.
The hydrological monitoring unit recommends remaining cautious, vigilant and mobilized.
