Sokone : la Gendarmerie intercepte un véhicule transportant 15 migrants en route vers la Gambie
As part of the ongoing fight against crime and illegal immigration, elements of the Sokone Gendarmerie Brigade carried out a major raid on October 22, 2025, Seneweb learned from Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye.
During a routine check, the gendarmes intercepted a vehicle leaving for Gambia, carrying fifteen (15) candidates for irregular emigration, as well as two (02) organizers and one (01) alleged accomplice.
The arrested persons were taken to the police station for the purposes of the investigation, which is continuing in order to identify possible accomplices and trace the network.
The National Gendarmerie reaffirms its commitment to preventing and combating irregular immigration, while inviting citizens to actively collaborate. It reminds that any suspicious activity can be reported free of charge via its call center at the toll-free numbers 800 00 20 20 or 123.
