Tarifs de l’électricité et récriminations contre Senelec : La Crse précise et annonce une enquête
Faced with rumors of rising electricity prices and the numerous complaints against Senelec, the Energy Sector Regulatory Commission (CRSE) has stepped up to the plate.
Recalling that it is the only structure authorized, in accordance with regulations, to carry out a tariff readjustment, it specifies, in its press release reviewed by Seneweb, that to date, "no increase has been recorded in electricity tariffs and the current Senelec tariff schedule has not undergone any changes." The Crse reports that the last modification of tariffs took place in December 2023.
However, given the recurrence of user complaints, it announced that it had conducted "an independent investigation into Senelec's metering and billing systems in an inclusive and participatory approach with all stakeholders, including consumer associations." The results and recommendations of the said investigation will, it promises, be shared shortly with the various stakeholders.
"In any event, the CRSE ensures the preservation and protection of consumer interests and, as such, ensures the compliance of the rates applied by Senelec. To this end, it has implemented a procedure for managing claims and complaints," assures the CRSE.
