Thiès : Des boutiques du campus social de l’Université attaquées par une bande armée, plusieurs millions emportés
During the night of Friday 7 to Saturday 8 November 2025, criminals burglarized several shops located on the social campus of the Iba Der Thiam University of Thiès (UIDT).
At least three businesses were targeted, and the attackers made off with several million CFA francs as well as equipment.
According to eyewitness accounts, around ten hooded and heavily armed individuals entered the campus at around 2 a.m.
They reportedly overpowered the students present before breaking down the shop doors. The security cameras were smashed to erase any trace of their presence, then the perpetrators gained access to the counters where they stole large sums of money.
The burglars also took valuables.
In one of the multi-service shops, they allegedly vandalized the printers and stole several mobile phones.
After committing their crime, the assailants fled, disappearing into the night.
The shop managers, informed of the incident, immediately alerted the police. Officers went to the scene to carry out the usual procedures.
An investigation has been launched to identify and apprehend the perpetrators of this attack and to shed full light on this affair.
