THIÈS : Trois ans requis contre un tiktokeur poursuivi pour le vol de 2 800 000 F CFA
The young TikToker M. Marone is facing serious charges. Prosecuted for theft in a group, he is accused of stealing 2,800,000 CFA francs from a shopkeeper, M. Guèye, along with three accomplices. The theft took place in Thiès.
According to the victim, the accused arrived at his hardware store accompanied by three individuals on two motorcycles. A man named Mr. Guèye was haggling over the price of cement to distract him and allow the others to steal the money from the counter. It was only after they left that he discovered the theft of 2,800,000 CFA francs.
Mr. Guèye then filed a complaint with the gendarmerie. After an investigation, Mr. Marone was arrested. He was identified by the victim. His accomplices, however, are nowhere to be found.
In the dock of the Thiès court for flagrant offenses, Mr. Marone denied the charges. He emphasized that he was present at the scene of the robbery, but that he had not entered the store. He was accompanied by the other suspects because they had hired him for 7,000 CFA francs to drive them to Thiénaba.
However, the plaintiff reiterated that it was indeed Mr. Marone who had come to haggle over the price of the cement to deceive him and allow his accomplices to steal his money. He therefore claimed 2,800,000 CFA francs in damages.
The public prosecutor deemed Mr. Marone guilty of the charges and requested a three-year prison sentence.
The case has been adjourned for deliberation and the judgment will be delivered soon.
