Touba : Des préservatifs et de la drogue saisis par la police dans une maison, neuf arrestations, dont trois filles
The Gouy-Mbind police station's research brigade arrested nine people, including three young girls, during the night of Thursday, January 29 to Friday, January 30, 2026, for possession and collective use of Indian hemp in a house located at the Ocass market in Touba, less than a kilometer from the great mosque, according to exclusive information sources from Seneweb.
Police were drawn to the house by a strong smell of marijuana. When officers entered the residence, they discovered nine people gathered in a bedroom, consuming drugs. The scene deeply shocked investigators, given the proximity of the house to the Grand Mosque of Touba, a symbol of Mouride spirituality.
Among those arrested, six are male: SS Ndiaye, aged 22, works as a plumber and resides in Touba Mosquée; MB Camara, aged 18, a merchant and resides in Gouye Mbinde; B. Guèye, aged 20, a merchant and resides in Gouye Mbinde; F. Ndiaye, aged 23, a tailor and lives in Gouye Mbinde; M. Tabane, aged 20, a student and resides in Touba Mosquée; B. Kébé, aged 20, a tiler and resides in Gouye Mbinde.
The three girls involved
Three girls were also part of the group arrested. They are W. Diagne, 18 years old, a housekeeper residing in Touba Mosquée; MD Mbacké, 20 years old, a multi-service manager who was visiting Touba at the time of the events; and F. Mbow, 23 years old, who completes the list of those arrested.
The presence of these young girls is a particularly shocking element in the context of the holy city of Touba, where such behavior is considered a desecration.
In addition to the five packets of marijuana seized, police discovered various items and products at the scene, indicating the nature of the gathering. A hookah, typically used for smoking flavored tobacco or other substances, was found in the room. Investigators also seized two bottles of cellulose-based products, often misused for their psychoactive effects. Two packs of condoms were discovered, suggesting that the evening involved more than just drug use.
The nine individuals involved are currently being held in custody at the Gouy-Mbind police station for possession and collective use of marijuana. The public prosecutor's office was immediately notified and an investigation has been launched.
