Touba Fall (Tambacounda) : Le fils d'un guide religieux arrêté pour vol de bétail
The gendarmerie brigade in Tambacounda has put an end to the criminal activities of Serigne Modou Moustapha Fall. The latter, son of a religious leader, was arrested for stealing a calf.
The events date back to last Friday, when Mr. Gourdo Diallo discovered his calf, missing since January 9th, on the property of a certain Modou Faye in the village of Dialocoro (Sinthiou Malème commune). After several days of tireless searching, the owner finally found his animal.
Alerted, members of the Tambacounda gendarmerie's research brigade went to the scene. Their keen investigation revealed that the calf had been entrusted to Modou Faye by Serigne Modou Moustapha Fall, who was in Touba at the time for the Magal of Serigne Fallou.
Arrested upon his return and subjected to a barrage of questions from investigators about the animal's origin, the suspect offered flimsy and unconvincing statements. His claims failed to convince the investigators, leading to his arrest for cattle theft. Following his legally mandated detention, he was brought before the public prosecutor.
