Trafic de bois à Tamba : Une course-poursuite avec les agents forestiers vire au drame
A fatal accident involving a tricycle loaded with logs, with two traffickers on board, occurred in the village of Saré Maka, on the outskirts of Tambacounda, in the commune of Sinthiou Malème.
Forestry agents in Tambacounda seem determined in the fight to preserve forest resources, which are severely threatened by malicious individuals.
Thus, during a control mission in the village of Saré Maka, in the commune of Sinthiou Malème (department of Tambacounda), where forest resources are disappearing due to human activity, two traffickers on board a tricycle filled with logs tried to make a run for it at the sight of the forestry agents.
Panicked, they unfortunately crashed into a wire fence. The tricycle driver, MT Cissé, died instantly due to the force of the impact. His companion escaped with injuries. Alerted, members of the local gendarmerie brigade were deployed to the scene. After examining the scene, the injured man and the deceased were transported by firefighters to the Tambacounda Regional Hospital for autopsies.
While awaiting the results, an investigation has been opened.
The lifeless body will be handed over to the victim's family on Tuesday for burial arrangements.
