Trafic de drogue à Ségoto : Trois individus interpellés lors d’une vaste opération de la BRS de Kédougou

A major anti-drug trafficking operation was successfully carried out in Ségoto by the Kédougou Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS). The operation took place on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at approximately 5:00 a.m., following operational intelligence indicating the existence of a structured network selling psychotropic substances, including kush and tramadol, in this village in the Kédougou department.

At the end of this large-scale operation, three Malian nationals were arrested. They are Abdoulaye Cissokho, 28 years old, a trader residing in Ségoto, Daouda Diallo, 25 years old, also a merchant residing in the locality, and Mahamadou Touré, in his thirties, a gold panner residing in Ségoto.

Preliminary investigations conducted by the BRS (Brigade de Recherche et d'Intervention Spéciale) uncovered several networks selling cannabis and medications diverted from their intended therapeutic use. Following meticulous reconnaissance of the suspects' residences, identified as the main trafficking hubs, a coordinated operation was launched, resulting in their arrest and significant seizures.

During the searches:

• Abdoulaye Cissokho was arrested in his grocery store where he was hiding illicit products. Law enforcement seized 160 tramadol tablets and 65 packets of kush.

• Daouda Diallo, arrested at his home, was in possession of 140 tramadol tablets and 16 packets of kush.

• Mahamadou Touré, also arrested at his home, was hiding the drugs in a pillow. The search yielded 266 tramadol tablets and 370 packets of kush.

In total, the operation resulted in the seizure of 566 tramadol tablets and 451 packets of kush, demonstrating the scale of the trafficking in this area.

The three accused were taken into custody for possession and trafficking of kush, illegal sale of medicines and illegal practice of the profession of pharmacist, pending further legal proceedings.

This operation is part of the strengthening of the fight against drug-related crime and the circulation of prohibited medicines, a scourge with major health and security consequences for local populations.
