Trafic de migrants : en cavale après une pluie de plaintes, la baronne M. Kamara coincée dans un appartement aux HLM
Mr. Kamara is in serious trouble. This Guinean national was arrested by officers from the Biscuiterie-HLM police station for conspiracy and migrant smuggling. She is the subject of complaints from three women who accuse her of having swindled them by taking their money without actually taking them to Europe clandestinely by sea, as promised.
Libération, which broke the story, specifies that the complainants are named M. Touré, F. Sonomy, and A. Camara. They told the police they had given the accused 1,281,917 CFA francs, 700,000, and 900,000 respectively.
According to their account, they were part of a group of undocumented migrants recruited and housed between Joal and Mbour by Mr. Kamara while awaiting departure for Europe. The migrants were to be transported in three groups. But the journeys did not take place, "cancelled either due to adverse weather conditions or due to engine failure on the pirogues," reports Libération.
After the fiasco, the plaintiffs report, Mr. Kamara allegedly took refuge in Guinea, cutting off all contact with his presumed victims. "The investigations carried out to identify her led to her being located in an apartment in the Corniche des HLM neighborhood. When questioned, the accused attempted to deny the allegations, but her denials were unconvincing," Libération reports.
