Trafic de migrants : la mairie de Jaxaay-Parcelles au cœur d’un réseau international, de nouvelles arrestations
A vast network facilitating illegal and paid emigration has been dismantled within the Jaxaay-Parcelles town hall. The mayor, Abdoul Aziz Diané, and his elected secretary, Idrissa Seydi – already implicated – are believed to be merely the tip of the iceberg of a much larger international network.
In its Tuesday edition, Libération reveals that the investigation conducted by the Keur Massar Research Brigade has uncovered a well-structured system. This system involved accomplices based in Europe as well as three business owners. These individuals, arrested in Grand-Yoff, Mermoz, and Yoff, were responsible for approaching elected officials to identify candidates. The network then offered these candidates fake municipal councilor positions, supposedly leading to participation in alleged international activities (forums, fairs, professional meetings), in exchange for a payment of 3 to 4 million CFA francs.
Other mayors are also reportedly under investigation, the newspaper continues. Following their return to the prosecutor's office, Abdoul Aziz Diané and his co-defendants were to learn their fate. The Pikine-Guédiawaye prosecutor's office is expected to request a judicial inquiry to shed full light on this bizarre affair, predicts Libération.

Mon problème, avec ce lynchage médiatique d’un honnête et digne maire, est qui en veut au maire de Jaxaay.
