Local officials denounce the case as "fabricated" and regret that certain media outlets have disseminated this information "without verification or tangible evidence."

Still in custody and awaiting his third hearing before the prosecutor at the Pikine court, the mayor categorically denies any involvement. His supporters maintain that he never received any money related to the alleged events and that he only learned of the amount in question from the gendarmerie itself.

They also specify that he has never met Ms. Ndèye Sène, mentioned in the file, who has not filed any complaint against him.

Faced with this situation, the mayor's political entourage is asking: "Who is trying to harm Abdoul Aziz Diané?" According to them, the affair appears to be a "skillfully orchestrated political conspiracy" aimed at removing "a major and respected figure" from the departmental political scene. In their view, the mayor's real fault lies in having administered the municipality "with rigor, transparency, and integrity."

The mayor's supporters are also outraged by what they consider a "double standard." They accuse two members of the ruling party of having leaked personal data concerning the woman named in the case, without facing any repercussions, thanks to "opportunistic political interventions." This situation, they argue, undermines "the credibility of the rule of law."

The mayor's family, friends, the Political Bureau, and all his supporters reaffirm their unwavering support for Abdoul Aziz Diané. They demand strict respect for his rights, fair handling of his case, and call on the media to exercise greater caution to avoid the dissemination of unfounded accusations that could have irreparable consequences.
