The investigation revealed that this group had set up a system for illegal emigration. Those wishing to leave had to pay large sums of money in exchange for forged documents. Yesterday, the gendarmes arrested Ndèye Sène, a businesswoman. She had paid 3,500,000 CFA francs to the municipal secretary, Idrissa Seydi, in exchange for forged documents. These documents presented her as a municipal councilor and vice-president of the environment committee. The mayor and his municipal secretary had conspired to create these false documents.

Obtaining a visa fraudulently

Thanks to her false claim of being a city employee, Ndèye Sène received a travel order that allowed her to go to Brussels to participate in a forum that didn't exist. Idrissa Seydi drew up the travel order; Mayor Abdou Aziz Diané signed it. The city hall also provided Ms. Sène with a letter of support signed by the mayor.

The suspects' version
