Trafic international : La BRS de Dakar intercepte 17,6 kg de kush en provenance de Chine

There's a new development in the international kush trafficking case. Following the arrest of Sierra Leonean I. Kallay, technical analysis of his mobile phones allowed investigators to intercept a package from China yesterday, Tuesday, containing 17.6 kilograms of top-quality kush, according to Seneweb sources.

The starting point: a first arrest in Grand Mbao

The case began with the arrest of I. Kallay, a Sierra Leonean national, at his home in Grand Mbao. During this operation, investigators from the Dakar Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS), under the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS), seized 2.7 kilograms of kush and 2.2 million CFA francs.

As a reminder, the initial hearings established that the suspect was processing kush using precursors and chemicals directly from his home in Grand Mbao.

Technical exploitation: a decisive turning point

It was the technical analysis of the seized cell phones that turned the investigation around. Investigators discovered a message indicating the imminent arrival of a suspicious package from China. This crucial information allowed the Dakar BRS (Brigade de Recherches Spéciales - Special Research Brigade) detectives to act swiftly and intercept the illicit goods.

Investigators contacted A. Diouf, a shopkeeper based in Rebeuss and representative of the freight agent Touba Compagnie Cargo, the company responsible for shipping the package from China. A visit was made to his shop.

On site, A. Diouf handed the package in question over to the plainclothes police officers. After verification and weighing, it contained 17.6 kilograms of already refined kush, a considerable quantity testifying to the scale of the trafficking network.

In light of this new seizure, I. Kallay was subjected to further questioning. During this interrogation, he confirmed that he had placed the order with his supplier, E. Zhang, based in China. This revelation confirms the international scope of the network.

When questioned about the nature of his relationship with A. Diouf, the representative of the freight agent who shipped the package, the suspect stated that he had no connection with the latter, claiming he had never met him.

In total, this operation brings the amount of drugs seized to over 20 kilograms: 2.7 kilograms during the first search and 17.6 kilograms intercepted in the package from China. This is a record seizure for the Dakar BRS (Brigade de Répression du Sécurité - Security Brigade).

The investigation is actively continuing to uncover the scope of this international network involved in trafficking and processing kush. Investigators are working to identify all those implicated in this criminal activity, both in Senegal and abroad.
