SEN'EAU has announced disruptions to the drinking water supply in Dakar and several surrounding areas due to repair work on a main pipeline.
In a statement released on Thursday, April 16, 2026, the utility company reported that a leak was detected on a major drinking water supply line near Diamniadio. Repair work is scheduled for the night of Friday, April 17, 2026, starting at 10 p.m.
These repairs will inevitably cause inconvenience for residents of Rufisque and its surroundings, as well as Dakar and its suburbs.
"Disruptions to the drinking water supply for residents will be noted, ranging from low pressure to a complete water outage," the statement clarifies.
To mitigate the impact of these cuts, SEN'EAU announced the deployment of water tanker trucks to supply the most affected neighborhoods.
The water distribution company emphasized that a gradual return to normal service is expected throughout the day on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
