Un sit-in prévu ce vendredi pour la réouverture de la mosquée de Karack
The Muslim Collective for the Reopening of the Karak Mosque is calling for action. It is inviting all worshippers and residents to participate in a peaceful sit-in this Friday, October 10, after Jummah prayers, in front of the Karak Mosque, Seneweb learned from Thierno Aly Sy.
This initiative follows the prolonged closure of the place of worship, a situation that the collective considers unfair and detrimental to the Muslim community in the area.
"Give us back our mosque!" is the heartfelt cry of the organizers, who believe that this closure has gone on for too long.
The mosque occupies a central place in the spiritual life of the neighborhood. Organizers emphasize the calm and dignified nature of the demonstration, inviting participants to come in large numbers to defend their right to prayer and faith.
As a reminder, due to recurring tensions between imams, the sub-prefect of Almadies, Mouhamadou Lamine Thiam, issued an order on Friday, May 2, ordering the closure of the great Amitié Baobab-Karack mosque.
