Boxe: Un combat Tyson-Mayweather annoncé
Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather have reached an agreement for a possible exhibition fight in 2026, promoter CSI Sports announced Thursday.
No exact date or location has been announced for the fight, but CSI said the two American boxers will face off in "spring 2026."
Mike Tyson, 59, has accumulated a career record of 50 wins, including 44 by knockout, for 7 losses.
He last entered the ring in November 2024 in Arlington, Texas, where he suffered a defeat to Jake Paul, a YouTuber turned professional boxer.
The fight was watched by over 70,000 spectators on site and millions more around the world. It was also streamed live on the Netflix streaming platform.
Former world champion Mayweather, 48, officially retired from the sport in 2017, undefeated in 50 fights, after winning world titles in five weight classes.
But he continued to compete in exhibition fights, including a victory over John Gotti III in Mexico in August 2024.
"When CSI offered me the chance to get in the ring with Floyd Mayweather, I thought, 'This is impossible!'" the statement released by CSI quoted Mike Tyson as saying.
"I still can't believe Floyd actually wants to do this. It's going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it's signed and it's going to happen!" he added.
Mayweather's last official fight, which ended in a victory against Irish MMA star Conor McGregor in 2017, is one of the most lucrative in boxing history.
"I've been doing this for 30 years and no boxer has been able to tarnish my legacy," Mayweather said, adding that the exhibition fight "will give the fans what they want."
