Violences politiques 2021-2024 : Pape Abdoulaye Touré et d’autres victimes entendus par la section de recherches de Colobane
The judicial machinery is engaged in the political violence that occurred between 2021 and 2024, which left nearly 80 dead and many injured.
According to information from Seneweb, the Colobane gendarmerie's investigation section interviewed several victims this Friday, including Pape Abdoulaye Touré, founder of the Zero Impunity Initiative (IZI) movement. He was questioned about the acts of torture he says he suffered during the June 2023 protests. Following this hearing, he confirmed that he had joined the proceedings as a civil party.
In September 2024, he had already filed a complaint against several figures, including former Interior Minister Antoine Félix Diome, former Youth Minister Pape Malick Ndour, and former high commander of the national gendarmerie, General Moussa Fall. He denounces facts relating to the offenses of "kidnapping, illegal abduction, acts of torture and complicity in torture, inhuman, cruel, and degrading treatment, and intentional assault and battery."
The opening of this investigation could provide relief to many victims and families of the missing who are still demanding justice.
