A. Sow, a 53-year-old delivery driver, has been taken into custody at the Ndamatou police station for acts of pedophilia and sodomy against his 11-year-old neighbor. This alleged predator bought his victim's silence with a few coins, reports L'Observateur in its edition of Saturday, February 14.
A methodical operating procedure
According to the victim's testimony, the suspect systematically waited for her parents to be out so he could lure her to his upstairs bedroom. There, he forced her to perform repeated anal acts. To ensure her silence, he gave her paltry sums of money, ranging from 250 to 500 CFA francs, after each act, while threatening to kill her if she reported the abuse.
The turning point: the Pierre Robert case in Dakar
For several months, the little girl lived in terror. The turning point came after the media coverage of the arrest in Dakar of Pierre Robert's network (implicated in the so-called "School of Sex" case) of young talibés (Quranic students). Frightened by the scale of this scandal, little NA Bèye finally confessed everything to her mother in a flood of tears.
Overwhelming evidence
The medical examination carried out at Ndamatou Hospital confirmed the horror. Called in by the police, Dr. E. Bénadji, a general surgeon, noted the presence of lesions and inflammatory scars at the anal opening, physical aftereffects that unequivocally attest to repeated penetrations over a prolonged period.
The suspect denies the evidence.
When questioned by investigators, A. Sow adopted a strategy of total denial. While he admitted to giving the girl money "from time to time," he denied any sexual assault. This argument carried no weight against the surgical precision of the victim's testimony.
The suspect is being prosecuted for repeated sodomy rapes and acts of pedophilia. A judicial investigation has been opened to determine if other children in the neighborhood may have been victims of this predator, adds the newspaper from the Groupe Futurs Médias.
