Visite de courtoisie: le nouveau représentant de la BAD réaffirme son engagement envers la DER/FJ et le PAVIE 2
Having arrived in Senegal about two weeks ago, the new Country Manager of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Mr. Wilfrid Abiola, dedicated his very first visit to the structures supported by the Bank to the DER/FJ.

This is a strong signal of the strategic importance the AfDB attaches to the DER/FJ, considered one of the major structures in its portfolio in Senegal. "For the AfDB, youth entrepreneurship is a central concern. We need structures like the DER/FJ to provide opportunities and support for these young people. Hence, for me, the need to dedicate my first visit to the projects we support to the DER/FJ," he stated.

Having closely followed the implementation of PAVIE 1 while stationed in another country, Mr. Wilfrid Abiola praised the structuring work carried out by DER/FJ within the framework of this project; he intends to continue and accelerate with PAVIE 2 financed in particular by the AfDB, the AFD and the State of Senegal with a budget of 107.2 billion FCFA.

The Director General of DER/FJ, Dr. Aïssatou Mbodji, reaffirmed her ambition to implement PAVIE 2 in 3 years, instead of the initially planned 5. This ambitious goal, driven by a focus on performance and impact, is supported by the renewed backing of the AfDB.

Mr. Wilfrid Abiola also expressed his willingness to regularly accompany the DER/FJ in the field, in order to closely monitor the implementation of the actions of PAVIE 2 which includes a strong component dedicated to territorialization.

The teams from DER/FJ and BAD have thus renewed their joint commitment to roll out PAVIE 2 with efficiency, rigor and impact.

During his visit, the AfDB Country Manager also discovered the DER/FJ Dhub, which notably houses the Fablab, the Game Hub as well as the new DER/TV recording studio, where he gave an interview devoted to the prospects of PAVIE 2.
