Vols avec usage d'arme blanche à Thiès : Un prévenu de 22 ans risque 10 ans de réclusion criminelle
Twenty-two-year-old C. Fall appeared before the criminal court of the Thiès High Court on charges of conspiracy and armed robbery committed at night. The events date back to January 2022.
According to the indictment, on the night of January 4, 2021, at around 11 p.m., officers from the 1st arrondissement police station were alerted to the presence of suspected thieves about to be lynched by a crowd in the Bountou Dépôt area.
Upon arriving at the scene, police arrested B. Ndiaye and C. Fall, suspected of having committed several knife attacks on their motorcycle. During their arrest, three cell phones and a pouch containing an identity document in the name of MS Cissé were found in C. Fall's possession.
During the investigation, C. Fall admitted to assaulting passersby with his companion in order to steal their belongings, including cell phones. B. Ndiaye partially corroborated these statements, specifying that C. Ndiaye was responsible for reselling the stolen goods. Both men were subsequently remanded in custody.
In court, only C. Fall appeared. Before the judges, he once again admitted to the accusations. "It was the first time I accompanied B. Ndiaye to commit a robbery. I was the one who gave him the idea. He was driving the motorcycle and I was in possession of the weapon," he declared, in the absence of B. Ndiaye, who was reportedly placed under judicial supervision.
The public prosecutor argued that the charges of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery committed at night were substantiated, noting that the suspects had been arrested with stolen cell phones. He requested a 10-year prison sentence for the defendants.
Deliberated on June 8, 2026.
