A tragic case of infanticide is shaking the Yoff Apecsy neighborhood. NF, a 22-year-old cleaning lady, was brought before the Dakar High Court on Thursday for infanticide. According to her confession, she became pregnant through her boyfriend's work but concealed her condition, according to Seneweb sources close to the prosecution.
On October 6, 2025, at around 3 p.m., NF gave birth alone in the bathroom and placed the newborn in a bucket filled with water. Having taken a long time to expel the placenta, the baby remained submerged for an extended period, resulting in his death by drowning. The young mother then decided to get rid of the body. She placed it in a bag before throwing it over the wall of the Yoff cemetery. It was there that she was seen by local residents, before being apprehended by the police, following a report and taken to the Foire brigade. The baby's body was taken to the morgue for autopsy.
Following the investigation, NF was brought before the Dakar High Court on Thursday.
