Ziguinchor : Les Bissau-guinéens annoncent une marche contre le "faux coup d'État" et saluent la posture du Premier ministre Ousmane Sonko
In a stabilization meeting to discuss the approach and course of action to adopt regarding the "political crisis" in their country, the Guinea-Bissau community in Ziguinchor revised its plan to meet with their Consul to request official information on the evolving situation in the country. After several hours of discussions on various points related to the crisis shaking their country, the Guinea-Bissau nationals agreed to voice their frustration and concerns through a peaceful march, following several proposals put forward.
Instead of a delegation meeting with their Consul to express the diaspora's concerns and request official information on the evolving situation in the country, these Guinea-Bissau residents opted to submit a request for a peaceful march to the Guinea-Bissau diplomatic representation established in Ziguinchor and to the Prefecture.
Dominga Almeida, the spokesperson for the day, condemned the coup and explained the reasons for the march. She considers the coup "bad news" and disagrees with the changes.
"We hope that Bissau-Guineans around the world will organize meetings and marches to demand the return of the legitimate president and the departure of the military from power," said the Bissau-Guinean woman.
In this vein, she affirms that in the case of the Ziguinchor region, if the authorization is accepted by the Senegalese administrative authority, it will be held on Friday in accordance with their action plan.
These members of the Guinea-Bissau community claim that Fernando Dias Dacosta won the elections and accuse Umaro Sissoco Embaló of having lost and of having orchestrated this "fake coup" to force his continued hold on power.
The Bissau-Guinean community of Ziguinchor welcomed Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko's stance in indirectly sending back Umaro Sissoco Embaló, who had landed in Dakar before leaving for Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of Congo.
According to Dominga Almeida, "we must not allow someone who has harmed their country to organize the same thing elsewhere."
Regarding Fernando Diaz's whereabouts, or rather his presence in Senegal, specifically in Ziguinchor, Dominga states that he and some of his comrades tried to contact or see him, but without success.
"We tried yesterday to get in touch with him but we couldn't find him. We didn't go in because we found a lady," said Dominga Almeida.
