Ziguinchor : Les vendeurs de porcs à Tilène menacent de boycotter leurs étales, après le maintien de leur président en prison.
In support of their president, who remains in detention, Ziguinchor's pork vendors at the Tilène market have declared a day off work this Tuesday. This boycott could continue for the rest of this week.
The reason for their discontent is the continued imprisonment of Laurent Ernest Tendeng, president of the Tilène pork sellers' association. He was due to be tried this Tuesday, September 9th, along with the four other youths from Lyndiane in the case of the beating of an alleged pig thief. However, the trial has been postponed until Tuesday, September 23rd. This postponement has angered his comrades, who have decided to stop work in support.
As a reminder, Laurent Ernest Tendeng was arrested along with other young people from Lyndiane on August 14. This arrest follows a complaint filed by an alleged pig thief who was beaten up in the said neighborhood on the night of Saturday, August 9 to Sunday, August 10, 2025.
