Affaire Assane Diao : Les précisions la fédération sénégalaise de Football suite aux propos de Fabrégas
The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) felt compelled to respond to Como coach Cesc Fabregas, who had stated that Senegalese international Assane Diao had injured himself during his time with the national team.
The governing body of Senegalese football was keen "to clarify that the player arrived at the national team with an injury sustained at club level, during the match against Cagliari on November 8, where he only played 45 minutes before being substituted at halftime."
The FSF also adds that throughout the preparation camp for the friendly match between Senegal and Brazil, which took place in London, Assane Diao was never in a position to fully participate in the training sessions.
"The player has been training outside the group and has not taken part in normal physical activities, limiting himself to specific exercises under the supervision of the FSF medical staff who finally decided to release him in agreement with the technical staff," she specifies in her press release read by Seneweb.
