Barrages Ligue des champions : Bodø/Glimt crée la sensation en Italie, Newcastle et Leverkusen en huitièmes de finale
The Champions League playoff second legs kicked off on Tuesday with their usual dose of excitement and surprises. The biggest upset of the evening came from Italy, where Bodø/Glimt pulled off a stunning victory by eliminating Inter Milan.
Having won the first leg 3-1, the Norwegian club confirmed their dominance at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium with a 2-1 victory over Inter Milan. Solid and efficient, Bodø/Glimt's men thus secured a historic qualification for the round of 16 of the competition.
In England, at St James' Park, Newcastle showed no signs of nerves. Having won convincingly in the first leg (6-1) against Qarabag, the English club again dominated their opponent in the return leg (3-2), comfortably securing their place in the next round.
Bayer Leverkusen also secured the essentials. After their convincing victory in Greece last week against Olympiakos (2-0), the German club settled for a draw (0-0) at home, enough to secure their place in the round of 16.
