Barrages Ligue des champions : Sørloth et l’Atlético écartent Bruges et filent en 8es de finale
One week after their spectacular 3-3 draw in the first leg, Atlético Madrid and Club Brugge met again on Tuesday for the second leg of their Champions League playoff. This time, the match turned into a rout for the Spanish side.
Led by a great Alexander Sørloth, who scored a hat trick (23rd, 76th and 87th minutes), Atlético largely dominated Club Bruges (4-1) where Mamadou Diakhon came on in the second half.
The Belgians, who had managed to equalize in the first half through Joel Ordóñez (36th minute), completely collapsed after the break. Real Madrid's second goal, scored by Johnny Cardoso (48th minute), deflated the visitors, who were unable to contain the waves of attacking play from Diego Simeone's men.
Thanks to this resounding victory, the Madrid team have secured their place in the round of 16 and confirmed their ambitions in the competition.
