Cachets des lutteurs : le président de la Fédération annonce un gros changement
With the establishment of the Senegalese Wrestling Federation (FSL), the governance of the sport will never be the same again. In an interview published this Monday in Le Soleil des Sports, the federation's president, Bira Sène, announced numerous changes in this regard. Among the new measures, he mentioned a cap on wrestlers' earnings. This will be "according to the wrestler's category: class A, B, or C," he explained.
Without specifying the range for each category, the head of Senegalese wrestling declares that when an athlete has, for example, the A license, reserved for the elite, "promoters are required to pay this wrestler a substantial fee linked to his category."
Bira Sène also announced that, like the wrestlers, promoters will be classified by category. "There will be A-level promoters, B-level promoters, and C-level promoters. So, what does that mean? When a promoter has an A-level license [the most prestigious], for example, which costs, say, X CFA francs, they have the ability to organize events with the entire range of wrestlers. This includes wrestlers in the first category, let's say preliminary bouts, up-and-coming bouts, and VIP bouts."
