CAN U17 2026 : Le Maroc saisit à nouveau la CAF après la demi-finale perdue face au Sénégal
The U17 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final between Senegal and Morocco continues to generate controversy several days after it took place. According to reports from Foot Africa, confirmed by Dsports, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has opened a disciplinary investigation following a new complaint filed by the Moroccan side.
At the heart of the case is Yaya Baldé, a Senegalese official and president of the Kolda Regional Football League, whose conduct during the match is the subject of the Moroccan complaint. As part of the proceedings, the CAF disciplinary committee heard from Senegalese officials to gather their version of events.
The Secretary General of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), Abdoulaye Sow, was questioned via videoconference. The CAF also sent an official letter to the Senegalese governing body to confirm Yaya Baldé's identity and allow him to respond to the accusations against him.
According to sources close to the case cited by Dsport, the incidents attributed to the Senegalese manager occurred in a particularly tense atmosphere. Members of the coaching staff and several Senegalese players were allegedly subjected to racist insults from some Moroccan supporters in the stands.
Faced with these provocations, Yaya Baldé reportedly reacted with gestures towards the public, an attitude which is now being examined by the CAF disciplinary committee.
This new procedure prolongs the tensions arising from the 2025 AFCON final.
