Having delivered an exceptional tournament performance, the Senegalese goalkeeper distinguished himself with numerous decisive saves and his composure in the most crucial moments. A true leader of his defense, he played a major role in Senegal's victorious run.
Assane Sarr particularly shone during penalty shootouts. In total, he saved five penalties during the competition, allowing the Young Lions to win three decisive shootouts.
His most memorable performance was undoubtedly the semi-final against Morocco. After several crucial interventions during regulation time, he was the key player in Senegal's qualification by saving four Moroccan penalty kicks.
