Twenty-four hours before the grand final between Senegal and Tanzania, Morocco and Egypt faced off on Monday for third place in the U17 AFCON 2026. A match which went in favour of the Egyptians, winners with a score of 2-0.

Mohamed El Sayed opened the scoring in the 32nd minute. In the second half, despite intense pressure from the Moroccans, it was the Egyptians who had the final say thanks to a second goal scored by Ahmed Bashir in added time (90+2).

With this victory, Egypt climbs onto the podium and secures the bronze medal. As for Morocco, the defending champion and host country of the competition, it has to settle for fourth place.
