Level on points with Slovakia at kickoff, but with a superior goal difference, Germany needed only a point to secure their place at the World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. But the Mannschaft did even better, crushing Slovakia 6-0. A resounding victory achieved with the contribution of their large contingent of players of African descent.
After Woltemade opened the scoring (18th minute), Serge Gnabry scored the second goal (29th minute). Leroy Sané then scored twice (36th and 41st minutes). In the second half, Ridle Baku (67th minute) and Assan Ouedraogo (79th minute) made it 6-0 .
With this victory, Germany secures its qualification for the 2026 World Cup. As for Slovakia, it will have to go through the playoffs.
