Coupe du monde U17 : l’Afrique du Sud démarre bien, le Maroc chute d’entrée
South Africa made a strong start to the U17 World Cup, defeating Bolivia 3-1. Despite Sive Pama's sending-off in the 36th minute, South Africa opened the scoring through Witbooi in the 38th minute.
In the second half, Daniel Bohloko extended the lead by scoring the second goal (50th minute). Despite Jesús Maraude pulling one back from the penalty spot (72nd minute), the South Africans managed to score a third goal through Shaun Els (90+4). With this victory, South Africa made a perfect start to their tournament.
Another African representative, Morocco, began the tournament with a defeat. The reigning African champions were beaten by Japan (2-0).
