Coupe du monde U20 : Le Maroc et l’Argentine se partagent les trophées individuels

The curtains have fallen on the 24th edition of the Under-20 World Cup. Morocco won the title by defeating Argentina (2-0). In addition to the Cup, the Atlas Lions also distinguished themselves by winning several individual awards, shared with Argentina.

Othmane Maamma, who scored one goal and provided four assists, was voted the tournament's best player and won the Ballon d'Or. The young Watford striker thus follows in the footsteps of such prestigious names as Lionel Messi (2005), Diego Maradona (1979), Seydou Keita (1999), Adriano (1993), Sergio Agüero (2007), and Paul Pogba (2013).

Another Moroccan winner, Yassir Zabiri, scored twice in the final and won the Silver Ball, which was awarded to the tournament's second-best player. A fitting revenge for the 20-year-old striker, who missed the final of the last U20 AFCON due to an injury that occurred during the group stage.

For their part, Argentina, runners-up to the World Cup, did not leave empty-handed. Their midfielder Milton Delgado won the Bronze Ball, while goalkeeper Santino Barbi was named the tournament's best goalkeeper, receiving the Golden Glove.

Finally, with five goals, American striker Benjamin Cremaschi won the Golden Boot as the competition's top scorer.
