Crystal Palace : Olivier Glasner révèle la nature de la blessure d’Ismaïla Sarr
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has been optimistic about Ismaïla Sarr's ankle injury sustained late last week.
Speaking to the press, the Austrian coach was keen to downplay the seriousness of the situation, while confirming that the Senegalese winger will miss his club's upcoming matches.
"Honestly, it doesn't look too serious, but he will definitely miss both games this week," he said.
Initial examinations revealed damage to the ankle ligaments. While the player did not suffer a rupture, the area remains significantly swollen, necessitating a period of rest and medical monitoring.
This injury comes at a delicate time, with the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations approaching and Senegal counting on the former Metz player to lead their attack. This situation naturally raises some concerns among Senegalese fans of the Lions of Teranga.
Glasner, for his part, prefers to remain confident. "We remain hopeful. I know our medical team: they work tirelessly. We hope he can return before the AFCON, but we must first carry out further tests and monitor the situation in the coming days," he reassured.
