De Munich à la Tanière : Les premiers pas de Bara Sapoko avec les Lions

Called up for the 2026 World Cup with the Lions of Senegal, Bara Sapoko Ndiaye is thoroughly enjoying his first experience with the national team. In a video released by the communications department of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), the young Bayern Munich midfielder expressed his pride, humility, and determination to improve by learning from his more experienced teammates.

The young international did not hide his emotion when he learned of his inclusion in the list of 26 players selected by coach Pape Thiaw.

“I was practically asleep when the list was published. When I woke up, I saw many missed messages and calls. That’s when I realized I was among the 26. It’s a great source of pride for me,” he confided.

Touched by the many expressions of support received, Bara Sapoko wanted to thank the Senegalese people for their trust.

Aware of the high standards that prevail within the Den, the midfielder prefers to remain humble and take advantage of this opportunity to continue his progress.

“I have only found great players here. I am mainly here to learn. If I am in this group, it is because the staff saw something in me and I hope to contribute to the team,” he said.

Having recently joined the group, Bara Sapoko says he has been very well received by his teammates. "From the very first days, the players made me feel welcome. I consider them like big brothers and I'm learning a lot from them. It's a very good group," he explained.

The young player notably mentioned his close relationship with Nicolas Jackson, whom he considers a role model. "Nico is like a big brother to me. He often gives me advice and we spend a lot of time together. I learn a lot from him," he added.

Finally, Bara Sapoko addressed a message to the Senegalese fans, praising their unwavering support. "We need our fans. They have always been behind us, and we ask them to continue pushing us forward. With their support, we will do everything we can to go as far as possible," he concluded.
