Erling Haaland parlant de Messi et C. Ronaldo : « Je ne leur arrive pas à la cheville »

Erling Haaland is undoubtedly one of the best strikers of his generation. The Norwegian "cyborg" has been scoring goal after goal since joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund, a club his team will face tomorrow, Wednesday, in the Champions League. In his pre-match press conference, Haaland addressed comments made earlier in the week by his coach, Pep Guardiola, who compared him to Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi due to his influence on Man City's play.

"When he strikes the ball, it's as if he's saying to himself: I'm going to score."

“His influence on the game is enormous, comparable to that of Messi or Cristiano. The difference is that Messi and Ronaldo did it for 15 years, but he is already at that level. When he strikes the ball, it’s as if he’s saying to himself: ’I’m going to score’” said the native of Santpedor.

Haaland believes his talent doesn't yet equal that of Messi or Ronaldo. Therefore, he doesn't want to compare himself to these two footballing legends.

"It's not even comparable. Nobody can hold a candle to them, so no. I'm Norwegian, and for me, I shouldn't think I'm exceptional just because I score goals. It's as simple as that. I'm just Erling, and that will never change," said "Cyborg."

Already 26 goals scored this season in all competitions

His words were tinged with humility and modesty. It's worth remembering that the Man City star has already scored 26 goals this season in all competitions, including 13 in the Premier League. For Guardiola, he possesses that drive that makes him "an exceptional player."
