Eurobasket masculin : L’Allemagne et ses « Africains » sacrés champions
Two years after winning the Basketball World Cup, Germany was crowned European champion this Sunday. In the final, the German team defeated Turkey (88-83) in a hard-fought encounter.
The Germans owe this success in large part to their players of African origin: Isaac Bonga (DR Congo), who scored 20 points, Dennis Schröder (Gambia), who scored 16 points and 12 assists, and Maodo Lo (Senegal), who added 2 points.
However, the final was far from a walk in the park. The Germans suffered greatly against a formidable Turkish team, who led for a long time before giving in in the final minutes.
Led by the immense Alperen Sengun, who scored 28 points, the Turks gave their opponents a hard time. But, in the money time, Germany was able to make the difference thanks to its individual skills to win (88-83).
Two years after their world title, the Germans have confirmed their dominance on the international men's basketball scene.
As for Turkey, despite a good performance, it still misses the opportunity to add its name to the European rankings.
